How to "UPDATE else INSERT" rows from the scored model into SQL server in Azure?

    Question

  • Using "Export Data" module I can insert rows only (as far as I understand)

How do I UPDATE rows in my table?

    The scenario goes like this:

I am scoring my customers with churn prediction probabilities.

The input - SQL server table in Azure. Model - Boosted Trees.

I would like to schedule the Experiment to run once a day (no need for web service API):

    1. To get the new data from my source table - done it!

    2. To score probalilities for churn via trained Boosted Trees model - done it!

    3. To UPDATE my target table in SQL server in Azure for existing customers or insert the new ones.

I have managed to INSERT all of the scored data - but cannot figure out how to UPDATE...

    Please help!
    Thanks!

  • Hi,

You can use "Add column" function in Machine Learning Studio, go to Data Transformation -->Manipulation, you can see a lot of useful functions for you. And also, you can try Web service output as well, it is under Web Service.

You can also refer to https://gallery.azure.ai/Experiment/E-mail-Classification-for-Automated-Support-Ticket-Generation-Step-2-of-2-Create-Web-Service-with-Trained-Models-2 this experiment.

  • I am sorry Yutong, either I did not understand your answer or I was not clear with my question.

"Add column" is irrelevant to my question.

I need to UPDATE a table in Azure SQL DB with my results and I do NOT want Web service.

    Please help

  • So you want to do it without deploying it? Am I understanding you now?

  • First I would like to it in my experiment - prior to deployment.

Then I do want to deploy, but without a web service.

I want my scored results to be written into my SQL DB in Azure as an UPDATE statement.

    Thanks!
