Strange Remoting delays when 2 processes using Remoting are running RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We have on process running a collection of Remoting servers over TCP. A seperate process has its own Remoting servers using IPC. When both are running at the same time (processing client requests, etc.), the Remoting servers using TCP experience a 20 second delay when processing a command.

When we remove the process running IPC remoting we no longer experience these obscene delays in processing a call. We control the libraries using the TCP remoting, not the IPC.

Has anyone experienced this before? I've scowered the internet to no avail.

  • IPC uses Winsocket.  The Net Library developed it own ethernet sockets because of known problem with the winsocket dll. I'm not sure, but I suspect that the winsocket issues are what is causing the delays.  Yo may want to do some research on the winsock.dll.
