Testing multi-tenancy in ASDK RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have successfully registered my ASDK to Azure.  Now I want to test multi-tenancy so I created a ASDK vm and enable ADDC on it.  I did not register a public domain, instead my local domain is mycompany.local.

When follow this ASDK post deployment link to enable multi-tenancy:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure-stack/operator/azure-stack-enable-multitenancy#enable-multi-tenancy

    The last step:

    Register-AzSGuestDirectoryTenant -AdminResourceManagerEndpoint $adminARMEndpoint ` -DirectoryTenantName $azureStackDirectoryTenant ` -GuestDirectoryTenantName $guestDirectoryTenantToBeOnboarded ` -Location $location ` -ResourceGroupName $ResourceGroupName

    returns this error:

"VERBOSE: GET https://login.microsoftonline.com/mycompany.local/.well-known/openid-configuration with 0-byte pay
    Invoke-RestMethod : {"error":"invalid_tenant","error_description":"AADSTS90002: Tenant 'mycompany.local' not found
This may happen if there are no active subscriptions for the tenant. Check with your subscription"

So my question is will this test scenario work?  If not, what's the proper way to setup a test AD?  Does that test AD need to have Azure subscription prior joining the multi-tenancy?
