Connectivity between Azure Stack and Syslog server RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I wanted to know how can we check connectivity between Azure Stack and an external host on a specific port number.

I tried running telnet from PEP session, but it says the command is not recognized.

We want to setup syslog forwarding and we need to make sure azure stack is connecting to our syslog server on a specific port number.

    Thank you.

    Regards,

    Sques

  • For testing TCP connectivity, I like to use PSPING. Once it is installed, navigate to the folder with a cmd or PS window and use the syntax:

    psping <IP or DNS>:<Port>

  • Where should I install psping?

We have to test connectivity between Azure Stack and the external syslog server.

We have to run the command set-syslogserver to configure syslog forwarding from inside a PEP session.

So we were trying to test connectivity from inside PEP itself using telnet.

Where can I download and install psping within Azure Stack?

We just want to make sure that there is connectivity between azure stack and external syslog server on a given IP and port number.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to this query.

  • PSPing can be installed anywhere, I prefer either it's own folder, or in the system32 folder so you can call it without having to navigate to the .exe location.
