Copy list data (including attachments) between SharePoint 2013 Server RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello

We have a SharePoint issue list that some issues have attachments.

My understanding is that we can save the list, along with its contents, as a template and re-create it in a different SharePoint.

However, I found that using this method to copy data will result in incorrect user names in the destination server.

What is the best way to copy the list with its data from one SharePoint to another SharePoint.

In this case, both are SharePoint 2013 Servers.

  • Hi Carbond,

Consider using Microsoft Access to copy list items with attachments to another location as following:

    1. Open the source list using Access by clicking “Open with Access” on the ribbon.

    2. Copy the database file from one server to another.

    3. Open the database file on the destination server, then export the list contents to the destination list via EXTERNAL DATA > Export > More > SharePoint List.

    Here’s your reference.
