Unable to add, delete or modify application packages after changing Firewalls and virtual networks setting RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

In order to restrict access to our Storage Account, we changed the Firewalls and virtual networks settings of the Storage Account from All networks to Selected networks and added exception for the IP ranges we wanted to grant access to, and a VNet which will be used when creating pools so that the nodes in the pool also have access to the Storage Account. The Allow trusted Microsoft services to access this storage account Exception checkbox remained checked as well. This seemed to be working fine until we tried to update an application package using Azure Portal from the Batch Account's Application tab and encountered the following error:

The auto storage account keys are invalid, please sync auto storage keys.

We verified that the Storage Account keys present in the Batch Account were exactly the same as those in the Storage Account. Nevertheless, we used the Sync keys option, but the error remained. This error went away as soon as we changed the Firewalls and virtual networks settings of the Storage Account from Selected networks to All networks.

What are we missing out/doing wrong?
