Notifications not sending to segments RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are trying to push a notification to a segment of users of our app based on a date range. We have set up the user segment and it seems to be all fine with about 500 users in it. However every time we set up a notification to send to the segment it says it has completed but there is no report and it seems it doesn't get sent to a single user.

The strange thing is when we set up a group, based on the email addresses of these users the notification is sent and processed successfully.

We are sending the exact same notification to the group and to the segment so we know it is not a problem with the notification protocol. Is there something we need to do extra to make a notification successfully process to a segment rather than a group?

  • Hello,

    Is your segment newly created?

After you save a segment, it takes 24 hours before you’ll be able to use it for targeted push notifications.

And there is a document which may contain what you would like to look into: Create customer segments

    Hope it helps.

    Best Regards,

  • Hi Annievia - yes we're aware of the 24 hour limit. The segments were created a few days ago. Typically if they are created in 24 hours we couldn't even add the customer segment to the notifications push. Once they came online after 24 hours that was possible.

What is strange is that it all looks like it is working but when we go to view the report after, it says that it has been completed but none of the notifications have been sent to the segment and the delivery rate is zero.
