Microsoft Store Policies 10.13.4 RRS feed

  • Question

  • We received an email today stating that our app fails the below policy.  Our app utilizes the One Drive SDK to sign in users with their Microsoft Account for the purpose of authenticating with our Azure Mobile App service.  We do not request a "username" or "password" nor do we store either.  Surely this rule is meant to prevent apps from requesting usernames and passwords via a control and then storing them and not authenticating a Microsoft Account using Microsoft's own services?

    10.13.4

Products published to Xbox One must not:

    • Include the sale of Xbox game products, Xbox consoles or Xbox console accessories outside the Store.
    • Request or store Microsoft Account usernames or passwords.

  • Hi GameFace.LLC

According to your description, your app utilizing the One Drive SDK to sign in users with their Microsoft Account seems to be the a violation of policy. Did you have to utilize the information for Xbox one?

The forum is not a good place for these sensitive questions, could you reply this notification email or make a support ticket to ask the team for help directly?
