What is current status of WWSAPI? Is there still Active Development? Is it Fully supported, Deprecated, End of LIfe? RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have a C++ project that presently uses WWSAPI for performing SOAP requests to another server.

The heyday of WWSAPI seems to have been around 2008/2009 when Nicholas Dudar from MSFT was driving it.

We are evaluating the future of our project over the next 5+ years and one of our identified risks is that WWSAPI is removed from Windows, or stops being a usable web technology for interfacing to other systems.

Does anyone have any knowledge in this area?

  • Sorry for being late to the party. WWSAPI is still in wide use and will remain supported for the indefinite future. That said, there is no active development (besides bug fixes and minor feature requests if/when they meet the bar).
