TFS 2012 on Windows Server 2012 R2 ?

Question

Hi,
Does TFS 2012 (with Update 4) supported on Windows Server 2012 R2 ? If I refer to official system requirements (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd578592(v=vs.110).aspx), it doesn’t (2012 R1 only). I’m asking the question because last night, our IT staff here has upgraded by mistake our TFS server from WS 2012 R1 to WS 2012 R2. Fortunately, all seems to working fine right now.
Somebody knows if a TFS 2012 update is planned to provide support of WS 2012 R2 for TFS 2012 ? In the negative, we’ll consider to restore our TFS server on WS 2012 R1 (even if all seems to work properly).
Thanks in advance,

Hi Dominic,
Thanks for your post.
I didn’t find Windows Server 2012 R1 information in that document, in that document it said we can install TFS 2012 on 64-bit version of Windows Server 2012. But I think we can run tfs 2012 Update 4 on Windows Server 2012 R2(or R1).
You can check your TFS Server working information in these days to ensure there’s no issue in your TFS 2012 Server.

Hi Dom,
Thanks for your reply.
I think that maybe the TFS 2012 Operation System support document didn’t be updated since Windows Server 2012 R2 releases.
If everything working fine in your TFS 2012, you needn’t restore to WS 2012 R1.

Hi John,
Thanks for taking time to respond. In the operating systems supported, they talk about Windows Server 2012 (not by specifying R2): http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd578592(v=vs.110).aspx Generally, when they do not mention R2, it means R1.
Example: for TFS 2013 http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd578592.aspx, Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2 are both specified. Which is not the case for TFS 2012.
Effectively, all is working fine on R2, all async jobs are running successfully, there’s also no exception in the Event Viewer and no end-user has complained since the upgrade to R2.

Hi,
I have just installed TFS 2012 U4 on Windows Server 2012 R2 and SQL 2012 SP1. There is no problem with the TFS, but it is not possible to install SharePoint 2010 from the TFS installation wizard. You must install Sharepoint2010 with SP2, but manually.
