setting my C# music video player as default for MP4s RRS feed

  • Question

  • i've written a simple MP4 player and want Windows to use it as default with command-line arguments so that when I select MP4 files in Windows FileExplorer and double click the selected files those file names are sent as input parameters to my app and my app then launches and plays them auto-magically.

but my Windows->Settings->Apps->DefaultApps selections for the .mp4 file extension does not give me the option to choose my app.

how can I tell Windows to use my app as if it had been downloaded from the Windows App Store?

my code is perfect until i don't find a bug
