  • Question

  • Hi !

I want to encode videos for my brand new Windows Phone 7.

But there isn't a profile for that.

What parameters should I use ?

    Thank you for your help.

  • Our incoming SP release will contain presets for this target. I unfortunately can't discuss more on the matter at the moment. More information will follow shortly. Please stay tuned.

  • Alan,

The OP was referring to getting a specific profile to encode files to playback in the phone, which was delivered in our most recent release (see more information in our announcements at the top of the forum).

As for your question about importing files from WP7, we are natively supporting the MP4 produced by the WP7 phones in our EE4 Pro version. If you are planning to use the free version, it is to the user's responsability to get the proper DShow codecs installed, which in this case will include a MP4 splitter, H.264 decoder and AAC decoder. Many are available online, both free and at a low cost. Installing Quicktime will also provide the necessary codecs. There is more information about codec support on our product page as well as the FAQ on this forum.

  • So where is the "more information" on this? Why don't Windows Phone 7 Videos import into expression encoder?

I get so tired of incompatibilities between MS own products.
