Windows 8 C# App can't connect to local HTTPS server

    Question

  • Like the title says I'm trying to connect to a local webserver using https but no matter how I try I get an error saying:

"The request was aborted: Could not create SSL/TLS secure channel."

The server I'm trying to connect to is a WebHelper for the Spotify music dekstop application. The server works as it should, because I can connect to it using a WebView. I'm guessing that the problem originates from the fact that I'm actually connecting to https://whatever.spotilocal.com which itself resolves to 127.0.0.1. Is there maybe some way to ignore certificate errors?
