    According to the FAQ (http://www.microsoft.com/expression/products/Blend_FAQ.aspx):

Q: What happens to my Silverlight 5 projects when the Blend Preview for Silverlight 5 expires?

A: The Preview release will be updated as necessary to ensure continued support for Silverlight 5 projects until the release of Silverlight 5 and associated tools.

I confirmed with folks here that this is still the plan.

    Hi

i downloaded the new version of Blend, and completely uninstalled the Expried version.

but after installing the new one, i still have the same problem when i try to run expression blend i get this message:

the prereleased version of this product has expired. you must update to a newer release.

i tried multiple times, i even tried to use software like 'Total Uninstall'. but still the same problem.

Great! You even do not have to renistall it over again, even after you see the message "product has expired" (and you have already installed the new version), just delete the GUID named DWORD value in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Expression\Blend key. Thanks injass!

    Thanks for the input guys.

Did the delete key and then the complete uninstall trick and still no luck. Have Blend 3, 4, 4.1 keys in reg. Any suggestions, Thanks.

Subkeys are OK, the important point on my machine was the DWORD value right under the Blend key. There should not be any. Could you check that?

Ok perhaps I should READ the instructions.

It's not the Key found under the Blend tree {fcc.....} that should be deleted but the DWORD Value found in the right hand window pane of regedit after one selects the "Blend" tree item under Expression tree. My bad. Thanks to those who posted the solution though.

BTW don't need to reboot or uninstall the new preview, simply delete the value.

Here's an update from the team:

Update: A few of you have reported issues where the updated Expression Blend Preview for Silverlight 5 shows the expiration dialog, even after uninstalling the older release and updating to this one. We understand the issue, and are actively working on addressing it. We should have an update shortly.

    Thanks,

    Lori

Here's another update from the team.  We have fixed the issue and updated the download.  If you are still experiencing issues with the expiration notice, please download the update again and install it.

Update: A few of you have reported issues where the updated Expression Blend Preview for Silverlight 5 shows the expiration dialog, even after uninstalling the older release and updating to this one. We have resolved this issue, and updated the download site. There are no additional fixes in the release, so if your version of Blend Preview for Silverlight 5 is already working fine, no additional action is necessary on your end.

    Thanks,
