Unable to remove data sync group - always provisioning

Question

I created a Data Sync Group. One of the tables has a couple of computed column. Turns out this isn't supported (so why did it let me do it?) so in the log viewer I see lots of errors (see below for example text).
So now I need to remove the sync but it always seems to be "Provisioning" and wont allow me to remove it.

This means that I can't add another (corrected) Sync because the DB is already "provisioning".

How can i remove this Sync?

Eventually the Sync Group showed as failed and I was able to remove it.
