    Hi,

I have created a report and it is viewing and behaving different in Safari (Mac) as it does in Internet Explorerr (PC).

First of all, the table in my report displays correct in IE, however when I view it in Safari it is all bunched up.

Second, a couple of my URL parameters are dates and if I pass them over in US format (MM/DD/YYYY), Safari accepts it even though my Mac International settings are all set to UK. However when I pass the same URL parameters to my PC it does not accept them. So if I change the date parameters to UK format (DD/MM/YYYY) then my PC accepts them but not my Mac.

Any ideas on one or both of theses issues.

    Cheers
    David

    Hi David,

In Reporting Services, you use a Web browser to view reports and run Report Manager. Not all report functionality is supported by all browsers. This topic describes the browser requirements for Report Manager, feature availability for the supported browsers, authentication requirements, script requirements, and alternative steps and approaches for working around browser supportability issues.

The following features are not supported in third-party browsers:

    ·         Document map

    ·         Searching within the report

    ·         Zoom

    ·         Fixed table headers

The following additional features are not available when viewing reports in Safari 3.0:

    ·         The Calendar control that is used to select dates on a parameterized report that runs on a report server has been disabled for Safari. Users must type the dates that they want to use.

    ·         Image source files that are retrieved from remote computers do not display correctly in Safari.

    ·         The client-side print control used for printing HTML reports.

If you're using SQLServer2005, please try SP2 or SP3.  Many fixes went into those to make the Safari experience better.  2008 has these fixes and more.

Someone else will need to comment on the date format information, but I believe the local of the report (Report Language) dictates the format of the parameters.  The settings on the client do not affect the input mode.  Though if I'm wrong, I'd gladly be mistaken.

    Thanks, Jamie
