Using .csv file in DTS packages

Question

Hi

I want to insert data into a table in SQL using a .csv file.
I want to use integeration services using dts packages.I don't want to use dts wizard.

I know how to import data using .xls file.
But how to do it with .csv.

Please let me know the implementation.

Take a flat file source and configure it for your csv file.

If you can do it using excel, its very straightforward with CSV. Rather than using the Excel provider, change your connection manager to be a flatfile datasource, select your file with appropriate delimiter and you should be fine.
