Update Sharepoint site retrospectively after template change

Question

I have developed one site collection template and a site template for my client. The question was asked if a change was made to the original template, how do we update the sites based on the original templates retrospectively?

I believe that there is no interface support for this but is there an unofficial way around this problem using stsadm commands.

Templates are used for instantiation only.  Changing the template later will have no effect.  Yuo should look into deploying your changes as Features.
