Hello everyone

I done a search, but don't found the exact answer I want; So I ask it here and would be please by your answers.

As the subject says, I want to know what is the first and primary purpose of .Net Framework? And also what is it now?

As a second question, How much near is Microsoft to this purpose?

And finally, What is the future of .Net Framework?
