"Unable to Load the ....... ActiveX Control. Please contact your system administrator." - How to debug??
-
Monday, January 25, 2010 10:39 PMClient is running XP and IE7. Long story short, another spftware company is saying that when they load my software, they then get these errors from their web based application. The error message is "Unable to Load the SynDocViewer ActiveX Control. Please contact your system administrator." , and the window title is "Windows Internet Explorer." I am now on the defensive and have no idea how to research this problem since I am not a web developer and do not have access to their software. Any ideas how to debug this problem?I have looked at Fiddler, but am not really familiar how to use it. Have also looked at Process Monitor, but nothing obvious is jumping out at me.My application is a Windows exe with several dlls. I register some dll and Install Shield installs some components. Maybe one of my components is overlaying one of theirs??I apologize, as the formatting is off, but to the left shows the component that is installed with my software.Name File FileName Version Install Conditions===============================================TrueGrid.msm TrueGrid.msm tdbg7.ocx 7.0.0.254tdbgpp7.dll 7.0.24.7tdcl7.ocx 7.0.0.11todg7.ocx 7.0.0.272todgub7.dll 7.0.0.11xadb7.ocx 7.0.0.1Microsoft ADO Data Control MSADODC.MSM msadodc.ocx 6.0.88.4MSXML 4.0 msxml4.msm msxml4.Manifestmsxml4.catmsxml4.dll 4.10.9404.0msxml4a.dll 4.10.9404.0msxml4r.Manifestmsxml4r.catmsxml4r.dll 4.10.9404.0msxml4r.dll 4.10.9404.0msxml4.dll 4.10.9404.0Visual Basic Virtual Machine MSVBVM60.MSM msvbvm60.dll 6.0.89.64Microsoft Common Controls 3 ActiveX Control DLL COMCT332.MSM comct332.ocx 6.7.0.8988Microsoft Common Controls 2 ActiveX Control DLL MSCOMCT2.MSM mscomct2.ocx 6.0.88.4Microsoft Common Controls 2 ActiveX Control DLL COMCT232.MSM comct232.ocx 6.0.80.22Windows Common Controls ActiveX Control DLL MSCOMCTL.MSM mscomctl.ocx 6.0.88.62Windows Common Controls ActiveX Control DLL COMCTL32.MSM comctl32.ocx 6.0.81.5CMDialog ActiveX Control DLL COMDLG32.MSM comdlg32.ocx 6.0.84.18DBGrid32 OLE Control DLL DBGRID32.MSM dbgrid32.ocx 5.1.81.4MSDatGrd.OLCX MSDATGRD.MSM msdatgrd.ocx 6.0.89.88MSFlexGrid MSFLXGRD.MSM msflxgrd.ocx 6.0.84.18MSMask MSMASK32.MSM msmask32.ocx 6.0.84.18Microsoft Internet Transfter Control DLL MSINET.MSM msinet.ocx 6.0.88.62Miscrosoft Winsock Control DLL MSWINSCK.MSM mswinsck.ocx 6.0.89.88TABCTL32 OLE Control DLL TABCTL32.MSM tabctl32.ocx 6.0.90.43Microsoft Data Binding Collection Object DLL MSBIND.MSM msbind.dll 6.0.88.62DAO 3.60 (Requires MDAC 2.8) DAO360 (Require MDAC 2.8).Msm Dao360.dll 3.60.3714.5Jet 4.0 (Requires MDAC 2.8) Jet40 (Requires MDAC 2.8).msmMicrosoft Standard Data Formating Object DLL MSSTDFMT.MSM msstdfmt.dll 6.0.88.4Microsoft Script Control sct10en.exe sct10en.exe 1.0"Windows Script - XP, 2000" 5.6 VersionNT = 500 OR VersionNT = 501"Windows Script - NT, 98,Me" 5.6 VersionNT = 400 OR Version9X = 400 OR Version9X = 410 OR Version9X = 490

Tuesday, January 26, 2010 7:40 PMHi,
Is your computer on workgroup or domain?
If it is on workgroup, then you may enable the built-in administrator account and check.
1) Write click on my computer and click on manage.
2) Find local users and group->users and then find the administrator user.
3) right click on user go to it properties and deselect Account is disabled checkbox.
4) Now set the password of administrator user and now you are ready to login as administrator user.
Thanks and Regards:
