I'm guessing it may well be since everything will be the Vista "Live" platform/scheme.

We had hotmail and msn, now its Windows Live Mail.

We had MSN Messenger, now its Messenger Live

wouldnt be surprised if the MSN groups were changed to Live Groups

I'm pretty sure that's only the chat servers, I think the groups themselves will still be there just that the chatrooms for them won't be.

yes i would like to see a fresh look at groups and have it re modeled would be nice, shame they shuit down group chats they where a a core feature in some groups.

prehaps some more controls for example "edit posts" instead of having to just "Delete them".

but now they have Spaces maybe they just CBA doing anything to Groups?

Would be nice if they grandfathered us over, I have a group I have had since late 90s, Our chat wont be disrupted as it is off msn. Someone commented it was sad that they no longer offered mschat, but MS chats alive and well and available to download. I am on a server that has a java but also supports MSChat, Pirch, MIrc and any and all WebTV types without a problem. There are other servers too, the one we are on is small and secure.

Can anyone find how to transfer pages albums and information to the live groups or should I start a live group and link people over. I know I am not the only one trying to find out.

Purr from petchatters, Live Groups aren't active yet and no-one knows when they will be and if they will run them along side MSN Groups or if they will replace them with Live Groups.

But its still advisable if you save all of your pages and album contents, etc to your computer and then whatever happens, you will still have all of your groups content, just incase they don't automatically transfer everything over to Live Groups.

If you need any help saving your pages, etc, just let me know!

I made a sugestion to microsft about msn groups moviong to windows live spaces. there, the group blog would be right there. But I fell it should be renamed to Windows Live Clubs or something like that.

but microsoft saying "you can contract directly to your contacts by downloading WLM"

Yeah, my group has well over 500 members, i'm expected to add them all.....

rebulid groups from scratch and intergrate in to spaces. make spaces larger by adding groups and it will be all on the same network and same log in info and everything.

Thanks Pepsi. I have pages backed up for most part, tend to do that in case of when they do updates. but with several hundred members cant back everyones pics, I do hope they permit editing your post and larger space. I was lucky started chatters when managers got 30 mb (kb?) space. have just one left as I uploaded some for people having problems.

I have alot of gifs and my pics backed up on Photobucket as well as my disc, wonder if could send pic albums to a thumb drive

I have a large group web site with hundreds of pictures and hundreds of messages.   They suggest moving to "Multiply" which I checked out and that appears nearly impossible.   Is there any other place to transfer everything on my web site without doing it piecemeal which would take days to do.
