I've seen a thread almost a year old on this with the usual "MS doesn't answer questions about unreleased products etc."  BUT - Microsoft - I have to tell you - you blab all the time about unreleased products - so can you tell us - is a much needed update to Expression Web coming?

Go back and re-read the thread you seem to not believe.  It's still true.  MS doesn't announce products here any sooner than they announce them publicly.  You are not addressing MS when you post here, you are addressing other EW users.

Each division of Microsoft sets its own policy on betas, CTP and public announcement which can even vary by product. Expression Web 1 had a CTP which is the of public beta or CTP in 4 versions and at least 4 service packs. Expression Design had I think one, pre v1 and Encoder has never bad one. Yet Expression Blend has had at least 4 including one currently available to those participating in the Windows 8 early previews which I think is available to MSDN subscribers. Which maybe accessible to the general public Feb 29 when then will be a public CTP for Windows 8.

As Kathy said you aren't to Microsoft here.

What Microsoft may do elsewhere is immaterial; they do NOT discuss product plans in this forum. They have not done so in the four years this forum has been operational that we we have been participating, and they continue to state here, categorically, that they will not do so. Capisc'?

Furthermore, by saying "BUT - Microsoft..." as if you were speaking here to MS, you demonstrate that you have not done your duty and read the Forum FAQs and Guidelines - Start Here before you posted, where you would have found this clearly stated:

Is this forum a Microsoft technical support forum?
No. This forum is a peer-to-peer forum for Web designers and users of Microsoft Expression Web. The users who post on this forum are volunteers who are helping other Expression Web users out of an interest in helping the community of Web designers.

Understand? Notwithstanding your mistaken belief to the contrary, you are NOT talking to Microsoft here, but to a fairly small group of users of the product who provide the majority of the responses here, and who have no more inside knowledge than you do. And if you had a glimmering of a clue about this industry, you would know that anyone who did have inside knowledge would be under NDA constraint not to discuss it publicly.
