I am using Microsoft Expression Web 1.0 on a PC and it suddenly stopped allowing me in.  The user name and password was saved to allow me to go in each time without re-entering them, and that information is still saved, but now it just continues to prompt for a user name and password.  If I re-enter that information, it continues to prompt for it.  It is like someone has changed our password, but no one has.  The person I just spoke with at Microsoft suggested it sounded like a looping issue.  I've made several calls to Microsoft and been transferred through several different departments over the past few weeks without any luck.  Our website is grossly out of date and I'm unable to get in to update anything.  Please help!

Have you talked to your host? I had one change their password requirements and they reset everyone's password. I had to request a new one be sent to me and immediately change it to one that met with their new requirements as to complexity.

Your question is unclear. Expression Web, any version, does not "allow you in." There is no password access to the program itself. I presume that you mean that you have been logging into your site to edit live (a VERY bad idea!), and that you had "Open last site automatically..." set in "Tools|Application Options|General," so that the first thing you see when opening EW is the login prompt. Yes?

If you have previously been able to login to your hosting account using that method, and you haven't changed anything in your EW "Connection Settings" dialog, then the problem must be that something has changed at your host, NOT in EW. Has your hosting provider dropped support for the FPSE (required to edit live)? Or, it is possible that the FPSE have become corrupted, and you need to use your Control Panel to uninstall and reinstall them, or reset them, or whatever your provider's support suggests.

The point is, the issue is NOT with EW if you haven't changed anything at your end, and suddenly you cannot connect. You're looking in the wrong place.

    cheers,
    scott

Thank you!  Clearly I'm not technically inclined, especially when it comes to websites, as I had to think a moment before it dawned on me that obviously there is a host seperate from Microsoft.  So, as I'm now smacking my forehead and looking up their contact information, I can only be thankful that there are smart(er than I) folks out there willing to respond!
