For the longest time I have have had an issue with EW4 crashing every time I do a edit, find, replace, on current page option.  the edit find and replace does work if I select all pages.  It does not matter what I am searching for or if I am using wild cards or not.  I have looked around and do not see anything on this thus suspect I have a isolated issue but I need to fix it.  Thanks

I suspect that you're correct. I don't experience this issue, ever. There may be others who do, so I won't say that your experience is unique, but I don't recall reading of it a great deal here. Have you tried using "Find where: Open Page(s)"? Did it still crash? If not, you could use that going forward. Not perfect, I'll admit, but at least it would limit it to currently open pages, instead of the whole site. If it happens to start with the current page, you could simply cancel out after you did what you needed. Not ideal, but... ;-)

    cheers,

Your post title implies that EW4 needs a fix because there is a basic, universal problem with EW. But it seems to be limited to your computer, so you may be on your own.

Did you run EW Repair? Update the .NET Framework? Check your disk for hard drive errors? Change your video card settings? Roll the computer back to before it started crashing? Update video drivers (possible WPF problem)?

Does it crash itself or the whole computer? BSOD? Any error messages?

Like all pilots, Santa has to get certified periodically by the Federal Aviation Administration. The examiner checked his log book and the sleigh. Then they were ready for the checkride.
Santa got in the sleigh and the examiner joined him. But he was carrying a rifle.
    "What's that for?" asked Santa.
"I'm not supposed to tell you this, but you're gonna lose an engine on takeoff."

Actually if you read the post I said " I have looked around and do not see anything on this thus suspect I have a isolated issue but I need to fix it" no where does that state nor imply this appears to be a universal problem, I don't know why you would make such a remark.

Chances are if I have an issue due to possible corruption or what ever maybe somebody has seen the issue before and could save me time.

I tried a few things since this post and was able to crash EW4 regularly, I did the EW4 clean, no luck, de-fragmented the drive and checked for errors, all perfect.  I went and re-downloaded sp2 (lost 1st copy) and did the repair, that was the trick as that fixed the issue. Interesting point, the only error was if I used on the current page option, all other S/R worked perfect.  Thanks for your help
