I recently upgraded to EW3 (with SP1) from EW2 and noticed that the file/ "export" function was missing. It is available in EW2 which I still have installed on my PC but does not appear in EW3. I have done two re-installs with no change. has anyone else experienced this issue? It should appear just above or below the file/import function unless I'm missing something. Any help would ne appreciated

If you mean the 'Export to Web Package' option, this is now under the Site Menu.

Ian - Thanks. No not export Weg Package - I was referring to exporting a single file such as PDF or database from a website to a folder on my computer's hard drive. This is a simple function and has always been available in Frontpage, EW, EW2 but its not in my EW3 upgrade. The function always appeared under "file/export" however its not there? That's the issue. I have the option of right clicking on the specific file in the web site and then opening it in a default program such as Acrobat and then doing a "save as" and directing it to a folder on my hard drive, but this is time consuming and was always accomplished using the "file/export" funtion - whixh for me has vanished.

I noticed the missing File/Export as well.  Although I don't use it often, I do use it.  "Export to Web Package" is overkill when you just want to export one file (PDF, JPG, etc.).  The documentation suggests it should be where I'm looking (File/Export).

Well, it's not there, although I agree that the Help documentation says it is.

But, why bother?  Just use "File -> Save As".  Seems to me that's the same as "File -> Export".

We removed the menu item in Expression Web 3 because at least part of its functionality was dependent on code that we no longer had access to (from the Microsoft Office team).  For now, copying/pasting or Save As... should handle most scenarios.  For the scenarios where you really need that additional functionality, just keep Expression Web 2 around.

Might want to update the Help file when you do things like that.  :)

    OMG ... Change my behavior?

Just kidding, you're right.  There's almost always another way to do something.  My post was mostly intended to confirm the disappearance of File/Export for the person who brought it up.
