EW 4-IE 10 & Firefox Does Not Display My Online Stores Correctly

I have been using EW 4 SP2. I upgraded to windows 8 and in IE 10 and Firefox my online stores look terrible. Tables overlap, font sizes are random, and font colors are not what they should be, plus many other issues.
On previous IE versions and Operating systems they looked fine. Help Please.

Read the Forum FAQ above, then come back here and give us a link to the problem pages.
Without being able to see the pages, it's impossible to identify any potential problems.

Without a link to the page nobody can help you. I suspect the problem was always there in browsers other than IE but you never checked it in anything except the browser you had installed as your default on whatever previous version of Windows you were using. The difference between IE 9 and IE 10 is that IE 10 is more standards complaint and less forgiving than IE 9 which in turn is less forgiving than IE 8 and so forth until you get back to IE 5 which would do what it thought you wanted. The "symptoms" you describe are most commonly associated with using type set in points using absolute positioning with fixed height containers. Anyone with different OS font size settings or other settings different from yours (such as high resolution computers like ultrabooks with HD screens in 13" physical screen or MacBook Pros) and/or not using an older version of IE has been seeing all along.
Post a link to your site if you want useful feedback. I would also suggest spending time with the learning resources section of the FAQ.

Your site is an old frontpage site and still contains a lot of antiquated / deprecated frontpage code.
Especially all of the fpswapimage stuff.
There is also a lot of auto generated CSS
There's way more html code in that page than needed to get the job done.Expression Web MVP

Thank you for your input. I appreciate it. Yes when I first started my site I was using frontpage then changed to EW 4. Is there any easy way to fix all the antiquated / deprecated frontpage code on all pages and fix the code to show properly on IE 10? I have 100's of pages I shutter to think I would need to fix it one page at a time.
Thank you

Friday, November 30, 2012 1:31 AMDepends, look in the FAQ under learning resources and you'll find links to tutorials on migrating from FrontPage to Expression Web. You will also want to download and work along with some of the other tutorials like the "Basic Website" tutorial that will help you learn the HTML & CSS you need to know to use Expression Web effectively. It was recorded using EW 2 but other than some interface changes primarily moving all site functions to the Site menu from the File menu the steps are the same.

Holy crud!
Your website scared the doo doo out of me when some weird music started playing after I visited a page. It's almost midnight and the house is silent, when suddenly I-ee-I-ee-I Will Always Love Hugh comes screaming out at me. Good lord!
When you re-do your site, you must--must--remove that. The fastest way to alienate a visitor is to hijack their speakers. Give them a link to play the music; don't assume that they aren't already using their speakers. Maybe there's someone nearby sleeping; maybe the visitor is already listening to music through the speakers or, as I had recently been, Nate Silver's speech to staff members at Google's offices and had left the speakers on and up but silent. The world will thank you.
Of course, I had already had a shock to my system with the images of a "pink heart dress" and "green gingham dog bikini". Very disturbing concepts to an urbane sophisticate such as I. ;-)
You are probably under some time constraints because of the newly discovered display problems, but take it methodically using the resources others have pointed you to. If you can manage it , when you make the new layout, widen it to 960 to 980 px. That's the modern standard and makes better use of the screen real estate so that people don't have to scroll down so far to find the dog hoodies or pink polka dot dog panties (shudder). ;-)
And, do NOT open any sites in which you used FrontPage Shared Borders in EW4. It will trash them. Badly.
Good luck

You made me laugh LOL but thank you for your advice, there is a button to turn off the music. I think I will make it off by default though.

Good girl. Remember that if people want to hear something they will click a button to start it. If they don't or it comes on in an inappropriate location (someone surfing during a meeting, baby or spouse sleeping they will hate you forever.Free Expression Web Tutorials
