Windows XP will not install Expression Web

Question

I cannot install the Expression Web upgrade to Frontpage 2002 on my Windows XP computer. Microsoft Frontpage 2002 works fine on this computer but I'd like to upgrade to Expression Web. Can anyone help me figure out how to install the program?

What error message do you get? Which version of EW are you trying to install?

In order to install EW on XP you must have the latest service packs installed. You also need ASP.NET 4.0 (or 4.5) and WPF (this I believe installs with SP 2 and is updated in SP 3).  Make sure that you have those installed before you install EW. There are plenty of people here who have EW 4 installed on XP.

I had this to happen to me on my xp machine about a year ago with a fresh install of EW4. If you've done everything Cheryl mentioned in her post and you still can't get it to install you probably need to contact MS Support.

My EW4 would install but not activate. Working with MS Support when we would uninstall and try to reinstall it wouldn't install again. Reboot and it would install but still not activate.

I can't say enough good things about nor thank MS Support enough because it took them several weeks to get it to install and activate. They worked in my computer just about everyday until they found a fix and had my xp machine and EW4 finally making a marriage together. They never did tell me if it was my machine or EW4 but thank you again MS Support.
