I AM SO TIRED OF HAVING AN ACCOUNT WITH MICROSOF. FIRST OF ALL YOU CHANGE MY EM ACCOUNT FROM HOTMAIL TO OUTLOOKEXPRESSE WITH OUT PRIOR NOTIFICATION, TAKING WITH YOU MY LIST OF CONTACTS THAT I HAVE BUILT UP FOR ALMOST 7 YEARS. NO ONE KNOWS THAT MY ACCOUNT WITH OUTLOOKEXPRESS IS MY EM ACCCOUNT THEREFORE IN MORE THAN 3 DAYS I HAVE NOT RECEIVED MAIL FROM MY CONTACTS, BECAUSE THEIR MESSAGE ARE BEING SENT BACK, BECAUSE MY HOTMAIL ACCOUNT HAS BEEN CLOSE.

YOU ARE A SERVICE IN THIS COMPUTER, BUT THIS COMPUTER IS NOT YOUR FOR YOU TO BE MAKING CHANGES IN MY PROGRAMS WITHOUT ANTICIPATED NOTICE. I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF HUGE BUSINNESS WHEN YOU ALL OF A SUDDEN  CHANGE MY EM ACCOUNT, AND ERASED ABOUT 7 YEARS OF CONTACTCS, JUST LIKE THAT.

I WANT YOU TO CHANGE ME BACK TO MY HOTMAIL ACCOUNT WITH ALL THE CONTACTS I HAD, AND I WILL HAVE TO REGISTER AGAIN SINCE I DONNT KNOW WHAT PASSWORD TO USE TO USE MY HOTMAIL ACCOUNT. YOU DONNT HAVE AN IDEA OF WHAT YOU HAVE DONE TO ME, AND I WANT THIS PROBLEM RESOLVED INMEDIATELLY, BECAUSE IF I HAD LOST ANY AGREEMENT I HAD BEFORE YOU ALL OF A SUDDEN MAKE THIS CHANGE IN MY COMPUTER, AND I LOST ANY MONEY BECAUSE OF IT YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR ANY DAMAGE YOU CREATED ME WITH THIS ISSUE. I REQUEST YOU MOVE FAST ON THIS, BECAUSE EVERYDAY THAT GOES BY I AM LOOSING 25 TO 30 MESSAGE. I WILL NOT HESITATE TO TAKE LEGAL ACTION TO YOU FOR SET ME IN THIS PROBLEM.

I WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU URGENTLLY, AND NEVER AGAIN PUT YOUR HANDS IN WHAT IS NOT YOURS.

Victor, no one here works for Microsoft. This is a user-to-user forum, dedicated to the Web development software "Expression Web." We have no connection to outlook.com, hotmail.com, or any other Microsoft property. Theoretically, there are some MS moderators here, although you might never realize it, since they rarely ever make their presence known, but even they have no responsibility for the problem you're describing, and couldn't do anything about it even if they saw your post.

You're in the wrong place, and you're approaching this the wrong way. It is incumbent upon you to contact all of those commercial contacts you're talking about. You have their addresses. And it is up to you to publicize your new email address to those contacts, on your Web site, newsletter, business collateral, however they got your email address before.

And, frankly, Victor, you were not exactly following best practices, using a free email service address as your primary business email address. Doing so looks unprofessional to begin with, and it puts you at the mercy of the provider doing something just like this, and you have absolutely no recourse, legal or otherwise, because you provided no consideration, nor met the other requirements of a contractual relationship. In short, if you're counting on Microsoft to do something to resolve your problems, you're SOL.

amigo, your hotmail account should have been closed on you unless your account was compromised and hijacked by a spammer.

contact [e-mail] and inquire with them as to why your account was deactivated or changed

It's hard to tell what he's actually talking about, because AFAIK, no Hotmail accounts were closed when Outlook.com started up. In fact I seem to have received an email in my outlook.com inbox offering me a Hotmail account(?). It's the only email I've received there other than my "Welcome to Outlook.com Preview" email, since I don't actually use it for anything.

I don't know what his references to "OUTLOOKEXPRESS" are referring to, since Outlook Express (the program) died with XP, and there have never been "OUTLOOKEXPRESS" email accounts. It's my own guess that he actually means Outlook.com, but I could be wrong about that. He obviously has completely erroneous ideas about his relationship to Microsoft, and their obligations to him, and any expectations of redress that he might obtain through litigation.

It could be that you're right, that someone has guessed his weak password, and that the account hasn't really been closed, but he just can't get into it now. Who knows. With what he's provided so far, we can only guess. But, we certainly can't do anything about his problem, whatever it is.

since hotmail/msn opened, live was the next wave, and more recently outlook.com is the latest exchange server offering

all of the domains are still open for registrations and are in working order as I have accounts on lots of them for mailing lists I subscribe to
