I recently upgraded from Expression Web 2 to Expressions Web 4. Can I uninstall version 2 without effecting the new software?

Yup. They are completely independent of each other.
Or you could leave it installed as you get comfortable with the new locations of some of the features in EW4.

I would leave it installed, if I were you. I have versions two, three, and four installed on one machine. They happily coexist side by side. And, given that EW2 was the last version with a macro language and a degree of customizability, you may want to do some things using it that are no longer possible with later versions.
Given the terabyte sizes of modern hard drives, you probably have plenty of space, so, frankly, I would just leave things the way they are... ;-)
cheers,

i tried fp03, ew1, ew2, ew3 and ew4 in a vm and all worked fine together with no clashing at all
