VSTO on build server

Question

Hi all,

Is there a VSTO package that I can install on our build server without any need for Visual Studio? I'm getting build errors because VSTO is obviously not installed, but cannot find an appropriate package to install.

hi Kent,

 

the VSTO build tasks require that VS also be installed on the build server.  for more information, see http://blogs.msdn.com/vsto/archive/2008/02/15/visual-studio-tools-for-office-build-tasks.aspx

hi Kent,

 

thanks very much for the information.  actually, at the last conference i was at, i learned that SharePoint developers do something very similar to this, so that they can build projects on a development computer without SharePoint installed locally.
