SQL Server JDBC Driver v2.0 is now available

This version of the JDBC driver supports features introduced in the JDBC 4.0 API, including:
· national character set data types: NCHAR, NVARCHAR, LONGNVARCHAR, NCLOB
· SQLXML data type
· Wrapper interface to access SQL Server JDBC Driver specific methods
· client info properties
· new database metadata methods
· LOB creator methods
The 2.0 driver also adds:
· default adaptive response buffering behavior
· support for SQL Server 2008 collations
· enhanced tracing, including public method entry and exit traces
· performance improvements and bug fixes

Microsoft SQL Server Native ClientSQL Server 2005 SP3 is now available for upgrade
Ed LehmanMSFTTuesday, December 16, 2008 1:35 AMSP3 provides a roll-up of QFE work done since SP2, as well as addresses critical issues reported through the SQL Server community. Per revised servicing strategy for SQL Server releases, SP3 does not introduce major new features. We have also refreshed the Feature Pack for SQL Server 2005 SP3 along with this release.
- SP3 can be used to upgrade from any previous instance of SQL Server 2005
- For customers who are going to be upgrading from SQL Server 2005 SP2 CU#10 or SP2 CU#11, you will have to install the latest CU on SP3 after upgrading to SP3 release to get all the fixes.
SP3 applies to:
- SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition
- SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Evaluation Edition
- SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition
- SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition
- SQL Server 2005 Workgroup Edition
The SQL Server SP3 update for all editions of SQL Server 2008 will be available on Microsoft Update on Jan 27th.
