A few hints:

• Real mails coming from Microsoft contain, usually, far less spelling errors.
• Especially, you will never see the name of Bill Gates spelled wrong in mails from Microsoft.  Never.
• There is no company called "Microsoft Cooperation" as in the first paragraph of the mail.  There does exist one that's called "Microsoft Corporation" though.
• Real mails from Microsoft generally come with a return address in the microsoft.com domain.  Another domain, like the yahoo.com address in this one, is a dead giveaway.  Especially if it's one of those domains giving away free mailboxes.

and finally,

• The fact that the word "Nigeria" occurs in the text should ring a bell.  An alarm bell.  An alarm bell the size of a church bell, something like three tons of solid bronze.  Google for 'Nigeria spam' or 'Nigeria fraud' and pick a page to read all about it.

I also got below mail from [e-mail], initally I thought its a junk mail and ignored but later on I thought of cross check, double confirm and called the person in UK.. Preson picked up the call but he is sounding very stupid and I droped the plan to proceed on this mail. Its true that earning money is not as easy as below mail saying ..

Hi,

I also received a message that I am a winner in the annual microsoft lottery conducted in Europe last Jan 9. Pls confirm.  I also would like to authenticate these people that are calling/emailing did really have my check. They ask me to pay freight cost and freight insurance.  Actually, I am very poor citizen of the Philippines. The winning will be of great help to my family but the freight/insurance cost is just so high that I need assurance that I can make payment of what I will owe to secure the check.

 

I also need information if the check is still useable or it did not expire yet.
