Not able to edit pdf file. Error "The document could not be opened for editing"

Question

Hi,

I am trying to open a pdf file which is inside a document library.

When i click on "Edit in Adobe Acrobat", i am getting the error as "The document could not be opened for editing.  A Microsoft SharePoint Foundation compatible application could not be found to edit the document."

I have added the site name under the Trusted sites.  I have also tried to checkout the file, and then click on "Edit in Adobe Acrobat", but still getting the same error. I am using IE 8.

How to fix this?

Hi,
