Has anyone used SPD2010 beta version?

Wednesday, November 04, 2009 10:07 PMHas anyone installed a SPD 2010 beta version and can succesfully create a fresh new aspx page to edit? When I creat a fresh new aspx page, I get this message "This page does not contain any regions that you have permission to edit" and the file opens up read-only mode. But it seems that with SPD2010 Technical preview version, this behavior does not happen..

Thursday, November 05, 2009 3:25 AMI used SPD2010 Beta at the conference and had no problems using it for external content types, conditional formatting on views, and even creating Site Pages for use with InfoPath form web parts. However, I do not have it personally until it's released later in November. How did you get the Beta before its release? ;)

This is definitely not expected behavior. I'm running SPD 2010 Beta successfully without the types of issues that you described. Do you happen to know which build number you have?
A bit of other information that might help now or in the future... when editing aspx pages, there are a couple of modes that SPD now provides: Normal and Advanced. When editing in Normal mode, some sections of the page are locked down from being edited. Editing in Normal mode safeguards you from accidentally 'customizing' or 'unghosting' your page.

Clayton, I am accessible to beta version that is available MS internally at this time. -

Not exactly fun for the rest of us to see posts here on versions that are not publically available. Surely you are breaking some kind of rule here. Posts on internal MS builds should be posted to internal MS forums only as far as I know.
