can not perform this operation.the file has been deleted or or someone else has it checked out.

I am trying to open\check out excel file in sharepoint 2007 and getting below error message. Appreciate your help.

1. Please make sure that you are using windows authentication, the document will be opened with the account you use to log on your computer.

2. Please make sure the account has permission to check out the document. Please read this article for more information.

Actully icons for the files were missing. daily recycle helped me to resolve this issue.
