2010 PowerPoint slides Library into SharePoint 2010 list

Question

We have a document library with PowerPoint 2010 slides, and would like to take each slide, say there are 20, and convert this PowerPoint document library into a separate list.

This way, we would have a tabular data list of what was in the powerpoint slide document library in a separate list for easy reporting, views, etc.

The PowerPoint slides have images, text boxes, etc...but each slide is the same as far as number of images, textboxes, etc...just populated with different data.

We pulled all the PowerPoints down to our local machine, and can work with them there...that sceanrio will work just fine.

I was wondering (and looking at) Open XML SDK 2 For MS Office { http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5124 } + LINQ to go through the XML nodes in each of the slides of each .pptx document, then push all that information into a SharePoint 2010 list.

It seems this is possible, but I don't know if we start with VS2010 and create a Windows application to go through the 20+ .pptx files on my machine, parse those into the IO, then push them to a SharePoint list as tabular data.

We have 2 images per .pptx slide, and about 15 text fields we need to grab and put in the SharePoint list.
