Error occurred in deployment step 'Activate Features': Attempted to perform an unauthorized operation.

Question

Hello All,

I had developed a custom web part in SharePoint 2007 using VS 2005 and VSeWSS 1.2

I have upgraded this custom web part to SharePoint Server 2010 using VS 2010 by using the

"VSeWSS Import Tool For VS 2010" from here: http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/VSeWSSImport

For this upgrade tool,I referred this article: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee662217.aspx

The custom web part got imported successfully and the build was also successful.

But its deployment gives me this error: Error occurred in deployment step 'Activate Features': Attempted to perform an unauthorized operation.

I am running administrator privileges on my Windows Server 2008 R2.

Any ideas why this is happening?

The problem is now resolved.

It was a rights/permissions related issue.

where did you give the persmission?

You can grante permissions in "SITE ACTIONS > SITE PERMISSIONS"
