Unanswered File Server Access

I've been tasked with the creation of a web part that will, ultimately, allow users remote access to files on a server through SharePoint.  As the scenario stands, we have a WebDav share set up that points to the file server.  I understand WebDav allows access through a firewall, but for whatever reason we get a blank screen whenever we attempt to navigate to the share.

Within the WebPart as it currently is, there is a hyperlink that automatically points a user to a certain directory.  This directory is valid and does exist.

    Ex: /StudentFiles/6t/6t.jr

Once we click said hyperlink, we get 3 prompts for authentication (which we then fill with admin credentials), and then a blank page.

The address to that page is: http://spproject.pcsb.org/StudentFiles/6t/6t.jr

Are we going about this completely the wrong way?  WebDav works properly from a certain test page, but refuses to work properly within the web part itself

Update 7-26-2012: We've managed to get the WebDav page itself to open and be available to navigate.  Now we're attempting to use a SEARCH HTML Request to get folders, but the server is rejecting the request regardless of the credentials passed with a 401 Error.  We've followed the tutorial listed here

    Hello,

I took a quick look at this and was not able to see what would be causing these 401 errors.
