SharePoint 302 errors

Question

On a SP 2010 site we have, we started seeing this in the IIS logs..  I know a 302 is a redirect, and it looks like it's loops.  I don't know where to go from here though.

Yes when they log in, it just hangs saying the page is waiting for the server to respond.  Fiddler shows nothing.  The only information I have is that log.

It looks like new users don't have the problem, only existing users.

Hi,

Is it coming all across the Site Collection? For example, if you try to open any Application pages, do you get the same error. How about directly calling some other pages.

What happens if you try to load:

your application url/_layouts/settings.aspx

or

your application url/_layouts/viewlst.aspx

Well the problem is the 302 loops is happening right at logon, but if i try to hit other pages manually while it's looping it won't let me.

These 302 errors are being produced during the login screen for a portal page.  What the user experiences is the web page "thinking" indefinitely after the user tries to log in.  When this happens, I see tons of 302 errors in the IIS logs.  Fiddler doesn't show anything because the server never returns any data at that point.

I've been able to figure out that this behavior doesn't happen when we create a brand new user in ADLDS.  It seems to happen for all existing accounts though.

The new users are being crated in ADLDS? Are the old users different in any way than the new users?

Please also elaborate a bit more on the authentication mechanism of the application. Especially if it is not Windows Classic Authentication against a company AD.

Also, are you the SharePoint administrator? If so, are you able to access Central Administration just fine?

Yes we use claims based auth against ADLDS for this portal, but main site also uses AD for admins.  I'm not a SharePoint admin so much as I'm a Systems Engineer.  We have SP developers both internal and external to the company.

This issue only affects this portal, and only for older users.  When we created new users in ADLDS, they can see the pages fine.  I was hoping for an easy quick answer, but this is probably more complex of an issue that I can get resolution on here.
