    too generic error can you be more specfic  ULS loggng can help

    I agree with the other comments, the information is too generic to be able to help.

    • Can you provide any information regarding the ULS log or event viewer messages
    • Is this caused by editting a user profile or trying to edit/configure the User Profile Service Application (if the later, try restarting the UPA services)
    • Have any upgrades been performed, there are known issues with some of the CU's so providing us with the SharePoint version would be useful
    • Is this message seen by a particular user or group of users.

    As much information as you can provide will enable us formulate better responses and hopefully help you resolve the issue much quicker.
