I am a bit new to Sharepoint 2010...i just did an SBS migration from 2003 to 2011 so i don't know if this error is related to the migration or a separate issue...
I have a client with a heavily used sharepoint calendar. someone deleted one item from a recurring event. It is still showing up on their calendar with an error that the items doesn't exist and it may have been deleted by another user...
however i can't figure out how to permanently remove it from showing up on the calendar...i am sure it is a newbie issue on my end, but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated..

Hi,
Do you mean that you want to delete one item from recurring event. You may refer to the articles below.
How to delete one instance of a recurring event after that instance was edited
programatically , how to delete a single day event from scheduled share point calendar recurring event
Hope that helps.

c) none of the above...
a user deleted one instance of a recurring event but it's still showing up on the calendar and when someone clicks on it, they see this:
i know which user deleted the event, but no matter what user i log on as, this is still the same result.- Edited by Jeremy Whiteman Thursday, September 20, 2012 7:16 AM

Hi,
This is occurring due to the fact when you delete a instance of a recurring event it adds a new event to the list and this event is in a pending status. You may create a work flow that searches on the title looks for "Deleted:" and then changes the status to approved. (Or you can do it manually as well).
Check this for more info: http://sharepointtechie.blogspot.in/2010/08/deleting-individual-events-from.html
Hope it could help
