Login prompt on Grant Permissions Page

Question

On an August 2011 CU multi-server instance we are experiencing an intermittent issue when users/admins try to Grant permissions. They receive a login prompt when tryin to apply permissions on the page, which subsequently results in a 404 page not found.

Does anyone have experience with this?

This error also occurs when a user is trying to add a Task.

Further testing seems to have isolated this down to a network connectivity issue - users who connect via a Citrix connection do not experience this issue however normal LAN users do get the Login Prompt intermittently.  Will advise if a specific cause is isolated - meantime anyone is welcome to share if they think they know what's up!

Final analysis: The clients had changed their Internet Explorer security settings, which resulted in the intermittent login prompt.
