Answered Viewing Report Results in 'Manage Content and Structure'

We have four site collection administrators who have the exact same permissions throughout the site.

Two of the site collection administrators can view results from the 'Pending Approval' and 'All Draft Documents' reports at top level of the site collection.  However, the other two site collection administrators do not have any results returned, when there should be.

All four site collection administrators can see results from other reports such as "Going Live in the next seven days" and "Expiring in the next seven days".

I am totally stumped as to why two administrators can view results on all of the Content and Structure Reports but not the other two administrators.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi,

As far as I know, content and structure reports is a list library. Please check the permissions for this list, make sure the two site administrator have appropriate permission on this list.

    • Click content and structure reports, then click down arrow, click edit properties,
    • Then click permissions for this list, make sure the two site have appropriate permission on this list.

    Thanks,

They are Site Collection Administrators so have full rights to the whole site!

They have the exact same permissions as the other two administrators.  The list does not have 'specific' permissions on it at all - it is inheriting from the parent site.  They can do everything on the parent site.

They can run the reports on sub-sites but not a top level (at root level).

The issue was that the List View Threshold limit default was too low.  We had to increase the List view Threshold limit to 10,000.

Large List Resource Throttling is a new SharePoint feature which allows limitations to be placed on a given list view.

To configure [or disable] the throttling options, simply browse to the Central Administration Web Application and, under the Application Management area, click "Manage web applications" then select the Web application.

From the General Settings drop-down on the Ribbon, select Resource Throttling > change the List view Threshold limit from 5000 to 10000 > click OK, then do an IISRESET.
