Removing default options from pages?

Question

Hello Community

    In a Sharepoint 2010 site there is "Shared Documents" on the site page by default
when the site is created.

    I want to "hide" the "Shared Documents" on the page of the first site that is created but I
want it "visible" on all subsites that get created afterwards.

    How can I make "Shared Documents" invisible on the page when the site is created but visible 
on all of pages of all subsites are created?

You can do that in site action > site settings > quick launch under look and feel. If quick launch does not exist go to navigation and remove shared documents under the navigation editing and sorting section.

Hello Littlefish920

    How do  you get rid of the "Shared Documents" that is in the middle of the "page"
with a Checkbox on the end where you can Edit Web Parts?

Note:  Still any subsites created afterwards should contain "Shared Documents".

Click on the Cheveron and select "Edit Web Part" --> Then click on the Cheveron again and it will give you the option to "Delete" the web part from the page.

Can you provide a screenshot for explaining your second question?

Do you not want to show "Shared Documents" but still want to show any other document library? Or you don't care to show any document library whatsoever?

    The reason I asked if the "Shared Documents" web part that appears by default could
be "hidden" or made "invisible" is because at some point it may be necessary for it to
appear again.

    The method you mention does "remove" the default "Shared Documents" web part
from the page but now if it needs to appear again how do I get it back in the same
location?

If that's the case - edit the web part and set the chrome type to none under "Appearance"

The click on the Cheveron one more time and select "minimize"

This will hide it while the page isn't in edit mode.
