Duplicate Results in People Search

Hello all,
I am having an issue with People Search in SharePoint 2010 Search. When I perform a search on the 'People' Scope, I am getting duplicate results. (I do not get duplicate results when searching content)
I have tried the 'Index Reset' option, and I DO NOT recrawl, however, after 'deleting', I perform another people search and still return duplicates eventhough I supposedly deleted the index (which tells me the index is NOT being deleted).
Two questions:
How do I truly delete the index?
Why am I receiving duplicate results for the people scope?
Start addresses:
- http://{servername}
- sps3://my --> (mysites)

Hi
By doing Index Reset you truly delete your index. Please make sure to check any scheduled crawls in your content sources. Please set both the full and incremental crawl schedules to none.
After an index reset, I think propagation will take some time. So if you have taken care of the above and then waited for the Search Admin page's propagation status to show "Idle", your index should really be empty.
However, if you think even after doing the above, something is out of place, you may delete your Search Service Application and recreate a new one. However, I would not recommend this. If you have customised scopes or metadata properties in your search, you will lose them and have to recreate them.
I am not sure why are you getting duplicate results in your People scope. I hope the same site is not entered multiple times in the content source. Worth double checking.
Thanks, Soumya | MCITP, SharePoint 2010

If you delete the content source People, SharePoint Search is supposed to delete missing items from the index, but let me say that when everything works as expected Index Reset should be enough.
Try to take a look to the ULS log to see if you can find something useful corresponding to the index reset.

The duplicate results about People reference the same url? Is it possible that you created more then one site collection with "my site host" site template?
Cheers
