    Dear all,<o:p></o:p>

    I have 2
sharepoint servers in my server farm. The portal site/application was working
in 1st machine. The user profile service/mysite was working in 2nd machine.<o:p></o:p>

Since i had issues(in 1st machine; i had started using my 2nd machine as portal
site/application. Now I want to use my 1st machine as mysite server.
Can anybody guide to change the mysite configuration to the 1st
    machine.<o:p></o:p>

    Cheers<o:p></o:p>

    Sathya<o:p></o:p>

Are both servers configured as web front ends? Do you have Alternate Access Mappings configured?

    Dear Guru Karnik,

    Thanks for the reply.

Yes both are configured as web front ends. No the alternate access mappings are not configured. I have a doubt; if I change the mapping to 1st Machine - as user profile/mysite server

    1. whether earlier configured mysites for few users will work.

    2. any changes other than AAM to be done etc.

    Cheers

Are the WFEs load balanced? If not, I would suggest implementing NLB with a qualified url say sp.domain.com, my.sp.domain.com for my sites. You will have to add AAM and update IIS bindings accordingly.

Regardless of the NLB and qualified url, you should be able to access sites from both server host urls with just AAM. E.g. http://host1:8080 and http://host2:8080 wherein you might have given http://host1:8080 as the public url while creating the my site web application. In order to access it through http://host2:8080, you will have to add AAM.
