    MSDN subscribers, including BizSpark customers, can download RDS 2008 Standard Edition and CCR & DSS Toolkit 2008 Standard Edition from the MSDN Subscriber Downloads page. Customers who are not MSDN Subscribers can still purchase this software separately.
  • Microsoft Robotics Studio V1.5 Retired

    MSRS V1.5 was retired at the end of March 2009. Downloads of V1.5 had declined significantly so it was removed from the Downloads server. All associated 1.5 packages have also been removed.

    It was 15 months from the release of the V1.5 Refresh, and over 20 months since the original V1.5 shipped. The latest version, V2.0 (RDS 2008), was released in November 2008 and supersedes the V1.5 Refresh.

  • New Robotics Web Site and new R2 release

    Robotics Developer Studio 2008 R2 has been released. This is an upgrade to the existing 2008 version providing some new features as well as bug fixes and documentation updates.

    In addition, a new Robotics web site has been launched.
  • Differences between Editions for RDS 2008

    With the release of Robotics Developer Studio (RDS) 2008, the product is available in three Editions:
    • Express
    • Academic
    • Standard
    The Express Edition is a subset of Academic / Standard Edition. It is available for free download from here:

    Academic Edition is free to students at academic institutions that participate in MSDNAA. It will be available via three mechanisms: Direct download from ELMS, MSDNAA download (where the academic institution makes it available locally) and Dreamspark.

    Academic and Standard Editions have the same functionality.

    Please note that at this stage RDS Standard Edition is not available via an MSDN Subscription. Please download the Express Edition.
