Hi,
Any idea why we can't use the Visual Studio designer ? after a complete rebuild we get this error and the designer shows nothing.
Since it says Microsoft.Expression I thought it would be more suitable to be posted here instead of Visual Studio !
If you think I'm not at the right place and you know a better one, please let me know and I'll go post there. The type initializer for 'Microsoft.Expression.Platform.Silverlight.Metadata.FrameworkElementMetadata' threw an exception

I posted on a Visual Studio forum in case it would be more suitable there :

I started getting the EXACT same error today.
Are you using any Telerik controls? ... that's all I've changed today and that's when I started getting this error in the designer.
Also getting another bizarre error:
Value cannot be null. Parameter name: key??
My code has not changed, the only change was updated to the newest Telerik RadControls 2012 Q2 0912.

I changed my project references back to Q2 2012 0725 version and I no longer have the problem. So this is definitely something to do with the latest 0912 version of Telerik RadControls.
I've opened a support ticket with Telerik and posted in there forum: Telerik RadControls 0912 Issue
In the meantime, I'd recommend going back to version 0725.
