I purchased (and activated) the subject software 8 months ago and it has been working well until a few days ago when it started to ask for activation.
"You have 0 days left to activate your Expression product. You must activate your product now."
When clicking Activate it says "Product is already activated" then it shuts down. After talking to MS Support I reinstalled the Expression package but the same problem remains.
I'm running Win7 64 Ultimate, windows updates are done automatically

I've exactly the same problem on a Win7 Pro System - after endless phone- & email-sessions still no clue

Did you install Office 2010 after Expression Web? I had the same problem - I deinstalled Office then Expression and removed all remaining pieces. Then I re-installed Office and expression in that order. It worked ...

I did not install Office 2010, but this happened after I installed a new USB scanner. Uninstalling it and Expression 4 did not resolve the problem.

I had the same problem here,
Spoke on the phone 3 times to Microsoft support to no avail.
Closed all Network/Internet connections (so the software isn't looking for the Microsoft servers to activate) and then got the Telephone option and all good after the Phone activation.
Don't know why i didn't think of that before........

I've asked support the very same question. If you are a MSDN subscriber, I found that the MSDN chat to be more helpful then phoning. I can't really talk though. I've been e-mailing, chating, and phoning daily for over a week and half and still not up and running.

I have the same problem .. and onestly I can't spend my time to uninstall all the programs and reinstall them only because the license management is a little bit "confused". I tried to use the online support, but they ask me the product ID .. unfortunatly You cannot have it because when I start Expression blend, the application tried to activate .. said "product already activated" and the application stop. But I don't install this copy of Expression on another machine.
And strange .. expression encoder is activated .. ??
Isn't a little bit strange onestly ?
What I can do to have a support ?

I have this issue with Expression Studio, in particular Expression Design. I'm on Windows8 x64 and it used to work (certainly before the upgrade) but no more. When launching I get the activation dialog.
* If I put my product key in it tells me it's invalid (it's not).
* If I simply click "Active Now" it tells me that it's already activated and bombs out.
* I've tried a full uninstall/reinstall which accepted the key - but the same problem returned.
Is there a fix?
