So given the ED4 that world+dog now use, I see it as a competitor to Photoshop but not nearly anywhere as much development has got into it.

I have AI so I can still use draw if I need some particular item done.

I have found paint to be as useful for images as anything as 99% of what I am doing ATM is running my gaming site and it is all screenshots etc

what is EDs best use for web sites?

    Hello Vegan,

No, ED is not in any way a competitor to PS. Closest comparison in the Adobe line-up is AI. It can open PS files, but there are limitations because it does not support certain layer attributes, etc., that a PS file can contain.

MS Paint is a horrible application for anything except a 5 year-old doodling on mom or dad's computer. Even that is limited.

Expression Design is very useful for most any design work for what it is capable of. Which is a lot. One of the biggest strengths for design is the ability to create about anything as a brush, including vector data.

But yes, designing banners and other graphic data for the web, etc., is a good use for it. If not a pedestrian use.

    Take care, Mike

I have an old AI disk I still use for draw. It still works and it supports all the formats I need.

ED seems primitive compared to even a 2000 vintage Adobe product. Earlier on I used Corel.

What is the best I have for raster graphics like animated GIF etc from ES4

I noticed the videos offered on the Expression site are not working with Chrome, I found youtube to be more expedient as it works with all browsers
